How to snap a 360 degree time lapse video
I’ve been using the Samsung Gear 360 camera for little over a week now, and I must say, I’m pretty impressed with what I’m seeing.
What I particularly like about this camera is that you can fully control it via the app on your smartphone. The app is only currently available on select Samsung smartphone devices, but it’s well worth it to access all of the camera’s features. There are so make-shift apps out there that allow you to run the app on other android devices, but you won’t be able to make the most of the camera.
The time lapse feature built into the Gear 360 is very simple to use via the app.
All you need to do is find a good shooting location, use a monopod (this is what I used in the example above) to position the camera, and switch camera modes on with the Gear 360 manager app. You’re good to go!
You won’t be able to live preview your shot while you are recording, but you can use the live preview mode beforehand to make sure you are set up correctly.
The app will automatically record the time lapse for you (I’m not sure 100% how it decides to cut what shots or if it’s recording everything), but the results are pretty cool.
If you’re looking to record 360 degree time lapse straight out of the box, it’s well worth checking out the Samsung Gear 360.
